Cam’ron @ Karma /// I Really Mean It

The hype for this show was unbelievable. Some people in Columbus didn’t think the show would happen, but we all knew Killa would come show Ohio some love. We met up at Martin & Shawn’s loft (sheeked out) to have a few drinks before we left. A special thanks goes out to Odes for helping our crew “blend in” at Karma.

We walked to the show around 10:30 and ended up waiting outside for about 15 minutes in the hype line (they actually had a sign up calling it the “Blame it on the Alcohol” line). They let in 2 or 3 people every 5 minutes or so in order to keep a long line outside the club.

Pete and I managed to get inside for free. Don’t ask me how, that’s just how it worked out. We chilled in the front room for about an hour or so. DJ’s started playing and within minutes the whole floor was packed. The first guy who performed was horrible. He threw about $200 into the crowd (I copped $12). Taking that into account I will rate his performance as average. I think the second guy was named Nemesis and definitely was getting love from the crowd. Everyone seemed to know the lyrics and I was a little pissed that half the city (Brittany Hills, Sullivant Avenue) was feeling this dude and I didn’t know any of his music.  I’ll have to do some research and see if I can get some of his tracks up on The Grip. This guy was on stage the entire night. (Kind of like this video) The cop car outside was murked out as well.

Around 1:15 AM Cam’ron took the stage. By this time the back room at Karma was packed. I don’t really need to say much about his set. Cam killed it. Check the pics and watch the videos ( I suggest watching them in HQ).

Kelley’s pants

After the show we found a brand new Nike blacked out Air Force 1 shoe at the door. We took the shoe outside and the cops asked us where we got the shoe from. Someone said “It’s Cam’ron’s shoe.” I think the cops bought it.
Cam’ron wears an 8 1/2.

  10. Dude on the sound was an amateur. Cam was on point but the bass dropping during his set was ridiculous; it sounded like he was rapping into a fan. He definitely was not happy about that.

I figured as much. It was tight seeing someone I’ve never heard of get that much love from a crowd. He got a MySpace or anything?

I was at the show too. His name is Q-Nemisis, I got a cd from him awhile ago. Good music, should be the next big thing out of the state. He even had a song wit Gucci Mane on the cd i got. His myspace link is on this Cd http://www.myspace.com/Q614

Cam’Ron did good but it seemed like the buzz left by the time he got on stage. He almost had to build the crowd back up after Q-Nemisis set was over. Once he did “Oh Boy” the crowd started rock with him. He also did some new material which was good to hear him in the lab. “I used to get it in ohio” was the last song….perfect way to end it Cam…It was nothing but love in the building, No drama….Great Night overall
