Kanye x Jay-Z x Nicki Minaj x Rick Ross x Bon Iver

One of those names is not like the other…

Kanye announced on Twitter that he is releasing a 5 track album with Jay-Z titled “Watch the Throne.” This is supposedly the second single from the album and I have no clue what/where the first one is. ENJOY.

Kanye West feat. Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj & Bon Iver – Monster

Kanye West feat. Jay-Z – Power (REMIX)

Whooaaaaaaa not mad at all! The original wasn’t really doing it for me but I’ll be blaring this all weekend…

Kanye West – See Me Now

Thanks to Bruno for putting me on this track. I heard Kanye talking about it on Twitter today but I didn’t see him leak it. Oh well. The song features Beyonce and Charlie Williams. I am really excited to see what his next album will be like. I’m hoping for bombs, not duds.

Kanye West – See Me Now

Gucci Mane feat. Swizz Beatz – It’s Gucci Time

Swizzy comes through with ANOTHER Justice sample?! Not mad. Columbus’ 2nd favorite rapper has put out about 200 songs in 2010 and this one stuck out the most. It’s a little loud and chaotic but I’m not complaining. Enjoy.

Gucci Mane – It’s Gucci Time

Lil’ Wayne feat. Drake – Right Above It

Haven’t had any new Weezy lately so I figured I’d throw this up. Nothing spectacular, but feelin’ it anyways.

Wale – The Eyes of the Tiger

Wale hasn’t put out new music in quite some time, but now he’s back promoting his next mixtape More About Nothing. I’ve seen him twice in Columbus and he’s one of the best live performers to come through Columbus in the past few years. Download and enjoy.

Wale – Eyes of the Tiger

Kid Cudi feat. Kanye West – Erase Me

Brand new single off Kid Cudi’s upcoming sophomore album which will be released in September on G.O.O.D. Music Day (Sept. 17th) along with albums from Kanye, Consequence, and Big Sean. This track is kind of catchy but I hope Cudi’s album doesn’t get all “Green Day” on us.

P. Blackk – Dumb Down

Fresh of his second mixtape “It’s Always Sunny in Columbus” (click to download) 19 year old P. Blackk has already started working on his new project “Black Friday” that will be out in November. Here’s a dope freestyle he did over Soulja Boy’s hit single. You can download the song here.

The Diplomats – Salute

Juelz, Jim, and Cam’ron have teamed up again after they realized they can make more money together than apart. Like Cashola said earlier this week, Columbus is still a Dipset city.

The Diplomats – Salute

Chromeo – Don’t Turn The Lights On

It’s my civic duty to post any and every Chromeo track I can get my hands on. Can’t fake the funk.

1/2 of Outkast

Big Boi threw this track up on Twitter yesterday and it’s spreading like the BP oil spill. This is his second single off his highly anticipated album Sir Lucious Lef Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. I’m still on the fence about Shutterbug but I’m definitely feeling this track. Download and enjoy!

Bruni – Panda Time

Your boy Bruni just sent over a brand new mix for the masses. Download and enjoy!!!

Big Sean – What You Doin?

Been bumpin’ this for quite some time and I realized I didn’t have the finished/mastered version. ENJOY.

Big Sean – What You Doin?

Swedish House Mafia feat. Pharrell – One

Brand new track from Swedish House Mafia (???) with some guest vocals from the always recognizable Pharrell. Not really everyday-listening music, but good nonetheless.

T.I. & The Dream

I could listen to The Dream all day long. Smooth as hell. Brand new track that might be on one of their albums.

IT’S FRIDAY SUCKAS.

T.I. & The Dream – Love Again

Jeff Brite March 2010 House Mix

I know I’ve been pretty bad about posting stuff lately and it’s really nice when people send me stuff so I don’t have to do any work.

I’m what you would call a lurker on your site. Quietly checking the blog to get a quick laugh or just see about some shit going on in my city. Saw you posted one of CJ’s mixes a few weeks back and wanted to share what I’ve got as well.

Inspired by one of those afternoon’s we’ve been having lately where the sun is shining and you just need something positive and funky to listen to.

Keep up the quality work with the blog. Got my support here.

Listen and enjoy!

Better Than Ice Cream, Vol. 68 by Wes Keyes

Chris Chu, Jon Chu, Julian Harmon and Tim Or are The Morning Benders out of Berkley. I’ve been diggin their Bedroom Covers and Talking Through Tin Cans EP’s that came out in 2008. Their most recent release Big Echo came out last month and it’s great as well, I don’t think these guys have put out a bad album. They’ll be down in Austin for SXSW followed by tour through the end of April, so if you’re lucky enough to be around, I’m sure they put on a great show. Below is a track from Bedroom Covers and one from Talking Through Tin Cans. On Bedroom Covers, The Morning Benders cover everyone from Roy Orbison to The Cardigans, it’s available as a free download on their MySpace along with some free mp3’s from Big Echo

The Morning Benders – Lovefool (The Cardigans Cover)

Better Than Ice Cream, Vol. 67 by Wes Keyes

It’s been quite a while since the last B.T.I.C. and even longer since the one before that. I’ll make an effort to post more. Anyhow, I’ve been sitting around listening to some new tunes and checking in on bands that I haven’t heard from in a while when I came across the Smashing Pumpkins. They have a new album out! Yes, the same Smashing Pumpkins that you might remember from 7th and 8th grade or whenever it happened to be for you, has come out with a new album.  Now, before you get all excited and ready to relive the wonder years with your old Everclear and Silverchair albums, I must let you know that Smashing Pumpkins are TERRIBLE now.  And I’m not just saying that, if you don’t believe me go check them out for yourselves.

So, in light of your recent broken hearts over how much of a deuche Billy Corgan is (see RS article), here are some tracks. They’re not necessarily new but here are some albums that don’t suck…

Bowerbirds, Upper Air, “Ghost Life
The Raleigh North Carolina group will be playing Oberlin College on Mar. 11

Jose Gonzalez, Veneer, “Crosses
Veneer was the first album from Jose released in 03, In Our Nature was released in 2007.

The Wrens, Meadowlands,”This Boy Is Exhausted
July 2002: the wrens throw drunken hoe-down to celebrate final completion of the Meadowlands. Party highlights include erasure of all Meadowlands multi-track master tapes.

Washed Out, Life Of LeisureNew Theory
Bedroom synth-pop out of Georgia

Also check out the new albums out from Editors, Hot Chip, Joanna Newsom, Blitzen Trapper Black River Killer EP, The XX (playing the Wex in April) and Surfer Blood.

Snoop x Kid Cudi x Diplo

Snoop continues to “move past the haters” and put out hot music at 38 years old. Instead of getting salty about “the music business” and “the current state of hip-hop” he teams up with two hot artists, creates a classic, and extends his music career to over 17 years. Very few artists will taste longevity like that. *pause*

Better Than Ice Cream, Vol. 66 by Wes Keyes

I’m doing a little painting around the house today and it reminded me of Red House Painters. With the all the snow outside it seems to fit, Kozelek’s almost eerie vocals that fade into the background. They were formed back in 89′ in San Fran by Mark Kozelek who is actually from Massilon, Ohio. They signed with 4AD records in 92′, this led to a very busy three years where they released five albums before 1995. Things were relatively quiet for the next few years, their sixth album was finished in 98′ but wasn’t released until 2001 on Sub-Pop because of record label mergers, disagreements etc. During the period of unrest, Kozelek released some solo material, organized a tribute to John Denver titled Take Me Home and even had a few small acting rolls in Almost Famous, Vanilla Sky and Shopgirl. The band went through some personnel changes and reformed as Sun Kil Moon in 2003, this was followed with the releasing of albums Ghosts of the Great Highway, Tiny Cities and April. Below there’s a tune from Old Ramon released under Red House Painters and one from his most recent album April, which has guest vocals by Bonnie Prince Billy and Ben Gibbard.

Red House Painters – Smokey

Sun Kil Moon – Like the River

Lloyd Banks feat. Juelz Santana – Beamer, Benz or Bentley

Remember that feeling you got the first time you heard “A Millie?” I got that same feeling when I heard this beat. This won’t be a nationwide banger, but its straight fire. In my opinion everyone from G-Unit fell off the face of the earth and Dipset disbanded a few years ago so it’s good to see something coming from both camps. GRIP-SET!

Props to The Smoking Section for the track!

Lloyd Banks feat. Juelz Santana – Beamer, Benz or Bentley

A-Trak + Drake = Loonies to Blow

This track will be a part of A-Trak’s Dirty South Dance Vol. 2 which will hit the internets sometime in the next few months. I can get down with just about anything A-Trak puts his hands on.
