Whites-Only Basketball League Formed; “People of Color” Need Not Apply
The All-American Basketball Alliance hopes to start up in June in 12 cities throughout the U.S. Southeast. According to a press release from the AABA, only players born in the United States of two Caucasian parents are eligible to play.
The league’s commissioner, Don “Moose” Lewis, claims that he doesn’t “hate anyone of color. But people of white, American-born citizens are in the minority now.” Thus, he says, the All-American Basketball Alliance would be “a league for white players to play fundamental basketball, which they like.”
Pointing out incidents in the NBA, Lewis asked, “would you want to go to the game and worry about a player flipping you off or attacking you in the stands or grabbing their crotch?” The AABA seems to be having trouble getting cities to join up.
Aside from the obvious problems with this league, there is a grey area with players like Jason Williams aka White chocolate and Chris Andersen aka Birdman. Between the two of them there is a lot of crotch grabbing and tattoos.

The Life of GG Allin
Kevin Michael “GG” Allin (August 29, 1956 – June 28, 1993) was an American punk rock singer-songwriter who performed and recorded with many punk-rock groups during his career. Allin is best remembered for his notorious live performances that typically featured wildly transgressive acts such as Allin defecating and urinating onstage, rolling in feces and often consuming excrement, committing self-injury, performing naked, and committing violent actions toward the audience—often doing many of these things simultaneously. Although more notorious for his stage antics than for his wide body of music, he recorded prolifically, not only in the punk rock genre, but also in spoken word, country and Rolling Stones-influenced rock. His politically incorrect lyrics, which often covered subjects such as misogyny, pedophilia and racism, deeply divided opinions of him within the highly politicized punk community. Though he has a devoted cult following, Allin’s music has received mostly negative reviews from critics.

Is It Just Me?
Or is the July 2008 issue of Rolling Stone (the famous Obama issue) telling me to “roll one?”
I’ve had the magazine sitting in my room for the past 8 or 9 months and it caught my eye the other night as read it on the throne. I have a hard time believing that Rolling Stone didn’t do this on purpose. The Rolling Stone photographer we met last year at Bonnaroo was a total stoner and a tacky Hunter S. Thompson biter. I know that is unrelated, but it’s a music magazine and I’m sure 60% of them are potheads.
If they put his head behind the text (like they did with the Prince issue) I wouldn’t have thought twice about it. I can’t decide if it’s a subliminal message or just a coincidence. I’m sure there have been covers in the past where the cover looked similar, I just find it odd that it happened on the issue celebrating our first black President.
The KKK Had a Baseball Team?
Our country has come a long way in the past 50 years.
I know we still have a lot of work to do but it’s nice to know we’ll probably never have to see anything like this again.
The Weiner Circle
Wiener’s Circle is a popular restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It is located at 2622 N. Clark Street. It is best known for its famously abusive staff members, one of the more notable being ‘Poochie’. The ordering of a ‘Chocolate Milkshake’ is also a highlight, if you pay $20 and ask for a “chocolate milkshake” you will get flashed by one of the staff, almost all of whom are African American women.
The eatery is famous for its rambunctious late-night crowd and foul-mouthed staff.
PETA Members Protest Westminster Dog Show Dressed as KKK
Quite shocking in my opinion. I’m not sure hate crimes against African Americans and breeding dogs are comparable at all. You can check the rest of the article here.
True to the promise it made last week, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals turned out at Madison Square Garden today to protest the 133rd annual Westminster dog show.
Group members, decked out in Klansman robes and armed with brochures that read “The KKK and the AKC: BFF?“, argued that purebred dogs suffer from breeding practices designed to produce show winners rather than healthy animals. A sample statement from the brochure (written in the first person as if by a Klan member):
Like the Klan, dog breeders who subscribe to the AKC standards are all about the sanctity of “pure bloodlines.” So what if beagles have epileptic seizures, Dalmatians are deaf, and pugs can barely breathe because of how they are purposely bred to look a certain way? Looks are everything!
In a statement, PETA Vice President Daphna Nachminovitch referred to what she termed the AKC’s “fetish for body image,” saying that the kennel club’s promotion of purebreds “means money for breeders but creates sick dogs and vet bills for their guardians.”
Further, PETA and other animal activist groups argue that dog breeding compounds the issue of pet overpopulation, with homeless dogs dying in shelters for lack of homes while breeders continue to produce new puppies. The brochure handed out by hooded protesters today elaborated on the connection PETA draws between pet overpopulation and dog breeding:
We tip our hoods to breeders who are responsible (oh, they’ll modestly say that it’s only “indirectly”) for the number of mixed-breed dogs who never make it out of the animal shelter alive. AKC officials don’t rub out these “inferiors” directly, but they know that every “purebred” puppy bought from a breeder means “lights out” for another mutt at the animal shelter.

White Supremacists Plotted to Assasinate Obama, Behead Black Children
Looks like the skinheads are at it again! Two neo-nazis planned on assassinating Barack Obama and decapitating dozens of black people but due to some excellent work by the government the FBI foiled their plan and arrested them. This photo was taken from Daniel Cowart’s MySpace page and shows one of the weapons seized during the arrest. Here is a snippet from the article:
“The assassination was to be the culmination of a “killing spree” that would also single out children at an unnamed, predominately black school, federal officials said. The men talked of “killing 88 people and beheading 14 African-Americans,” according to the affidavit. The two men each had “very strong views” about Aryan white power and “skinhead” ideology, the federal officials said, and the numbers 88 and 14 have special significance in the white power movement. The number 88 is shorthand for “Heil Hitler” — H is the eighth letter in the alphabet —and 14 signifies a 14-word mantra among white supremacists: “We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.”

Spanish Olympic Basketball Team Makes Racist Gesture
This is what sports is all about right?
Nope. But it is funny.
Spain’s Olympic basketball teams have risked upsetting their Chinese hosts by posing for a pre-Games advert making slit-eyed gestures. The advert for a courier company, which is an official sponsor of the Spanish Basketball Federation, occupied a full page in the sports daily Marca, the country’s best-selling newspaper.
The advert features two large photographs, one of the men’s basketball team, below, and one of the women’s team. Both squads pose in full Olympic kit on a basketball court decorated with a picture of a Chinese dragon. Every single player appears pulling back the skin on either side of their eyes. The advert carries the symbol of the sport’s governing body.
No one involved in the advert appears to have considered it inappropriate nor contemplated the manner in which it could be interpreted in China and elsewhere. No offence was intended by the advert, but whether the Chinese see it that way is a different matter and it is likely to provoke more criticism at a delicate time for Spanish sport. The failure to recognise the potential consequences is striking in the light of the problems Spain has had with issues of race and the Spanish Olympic committee’s continued desire to host the Games in Madrid in 2016 or 2020.
In the past the Spanish have been left in no doubt as to the sensitivity of racial issues internationally, especially since Spain’s football manager, Luis Aragonés, made his infamous remark about Thierry Henry, monkey chants greeted England’s football players in a friendly game in Madrid and the formula one driver Lewis Hamilton was subjected to abuse in Barcelona.
