[guest blog by Columbus Hype]
I was completely intrigued by this Artist, Designer, Programmer, DJ, VJ, Composer based out of Tokyo, Japan. By sticking sensors to his body, he can use impulses sent to each sensor by body movement to create light or sounds to coincide. He also has done work with Wii remotes, light installations, and NIKEiD studio to create some crazy experiments. Imagine what this dude could do with Christmas lights.
I just started to get up on Passion Pit. I’m disappointed it took me this long because their stuff is amazing. This song isn’t catchy at first, but after a few listens it’s almost impossible to get the tune out of your head. The video’s concept is original, entertaining, and it compliments the song. Exactly what you want from a music video.
It’s happening. Opening set by Columbus’ own Adulture.
If you aren’t up on Diplo, get familiar.
Justin Timberlake feat. T.I. – My Love (Diplo Remix)
John Legend feat. Andre 3000 – Green Light (Diplo Dade County 1988 Remix)

I’ve got 2 tickets left, who wants them? $15. People who have tickets from me: Grace, Kelley, Lindsay, Me, Zach, Katie, Paul, and Wes.
Someone was kind enough to leave an anonymous comment a few minutes ago saying, “This hipster blog sucks.”
In the spirit of that comment, here is a new video from Steve Aoki and The Bloody Beetroots, two DJs that are not even close to being hipsters. The name of the song is “Warp 1.9″ and I included the MP3 because this goes pretty hard.

DJ Self Help is new to Columbus but it’s obvious he isn’t new to music. This mix highlights Self Help’s truly eclectic style of party rocking. Called The Ritalin Bounce because it can’t sit still even for a minute, it’s a hyperactive, multi-genre megamixdub that fits 50 songs into 30 minutes, most of them original blends performed by Self Help on his turntables. If you get bored, just wait a second.
Look for this mix on Solid Steel Radio in the near future. Yo, Self Help, hook me up with an MP3 of that Mind Set On Your Money track from your MySpace!!!

1. Dave remixed one of his own tracks because the original was “really mellow.”
Dave Espionage – Watergate (Remix)
2. Dave put together a new mixtape of tracks he really likes called Disco Disco Not Disco (tracklisting after the jump)
3. Here is another mix set, it’s all promo for a Sugar gig on the 28th, CJ and Dave Espionage are going to be tag teaming starting at midnight. They’re supposed to have clowns, fire eaters, it’s all circus themed.

I’ve got a handful of tickets so hit me up if you want to go.
High 5 next Tuesday.
The people have spoken. The flyer was so ugly that I got more feedback on this than a Get Right Photos post. As a voice of the people I must take action. The flyer has been removed.
Mick Boogie is sick so I still plan on going to the show.
This is a 10 minute mix that Diplo made and the folks over at Mad Decent made a video to go along with. Good mix and the video is pretty cool if you have some “extra” time at work.
Tonight High Five is hosting the Halloween Cover show followed by Sweatin’. It’s almost Halloween and it should be rowdy. CJ threw together this mix and quite a few people were feelin’ it so give it a listen. See you there.

Scratch (2001) is a documentary film, directed by Doug Pray, that examines cultural and historical perspectives on the birth and evolution of hip-hop disc jockeys (DJs), scratching and turntablism and includes interviews with some of hip-hop’s most famous and respected DJs.
It’s an 1 1/2 hours long so I hope you have nothing to do tonight…

More goodness from Colubus’ own KNAVE.
Jaime Lidel – Little Bit of Feel Good (KNAVE Feel Good Remix)

A message from LUDACHRIST:
Thank you all for joining us in this service of worship to our mighty lord, Ludachrist. We have spent many months praying to our lord to guide us forth and it appears our prayers have been answered. We received a message from our savior in a dream late last night. It’s been made clear to us that it is time for a new Chapter to open in the holy testament (aka NEW ALBUM). It has been predicted this chapter will unite all of his followers under one church and recruit many newcomers as well. He has demanded that as Priests of his Church, we begin traveling to more cities, much more frequently. We have made a promise to our lord that once we’ve translated this new holy testament and released it to his followers, we will depart on a cross country crusade to preach His new gospel! We plan to expand our sermons across the country with brand new material, an even more exciting stage show, and lots of extras. No sermon is the same twice. To our followers in Los Angeles and Seattle we will be making an appearance very soon. Be prepared, and spread the word to all of your friends and families to ensure they attend.
LUDACHRIST – Chapter 1 – The Legend of Curtis
LUDACHRIST – Chapter 2 – Soul On Ice
LUDACHRIST – Chapter 3 – How Does It Feel

Beta Movement is at is again with another 20 minute mix for the masses. If you don’t already have it, cop the last one they made as well. I’m pretty sure they will be playing again soon. I’ll let you know.

I heard the orignal song and wasn’t really feeling it. The Flosstradamus remix is much better, trust me.
Bloc Party – Mercury (Flosstradamus Remix)
vs.
I don’t really get into mashups too much but this one is pretty good.
Louis Armstrong vs. Radiohead – What A Wonderful Surprise

I know Kareem was talking about getting this guy to come to Columbus and I think that would be dope. This was a live mix he did for the Ibiza Essential Mix series. It’s 2 hours long and it’s got some killer parts and some so-so parts, in my opinion. Still worth the download either way.
