Belgian Magazine’s Advertising: Funny or Offensive?
Humo, a humor magazine from Belgium, recently ran some controversial ads that have caused quite a stir. US news networks have not picked them up yet, but if/when they do you can be sure news anchors across the country will have some strong opinions about the content. However you look at the ads, they are obviously doing their job.

If you’ve followed The Grip for a while you may have seen the incredible Alice in Wonderland video which was created using the sounds from the movie. The sound is truly unique and the artist has released another video from the classic movie Hook titled “Bangarang.” I don’t think it’s on the same level as his Alice in Wonderland video, but it’s still quite impressive.

Worst Robbery Attempt Ever
From the first view, it looks like an amazingly efficient robbery. In and out in under 30 seconds. The second view tells a different story and the third view really puts thing into perspective. I love the chair throw, the fire extinguisher, and the extra swing the crook takes at the glass door on the way out.

You may or may not be aware that I’m in Taiwan, while my wife Cori teaches english to gradeschool children.
Its kind of humid here. Like all the time.
The funny thing is that people party, but its so on the d.l. and culturally uncommon since a lot of the youth is really focused in their school years on doing well in tests for high school/college.
So clubs and parties exist, but they’re pretty much put out there for peeps from other countries.

The Pizza Vending Machine
It’s pizza at the touch of a button. That’s the idea behind this pizza vending machine that will hit the streets of Italy in the next few weeks. “It looks like a coffee-machine. The difference is that it produces pizza by means of a very simple procedure.” These machines currently feature four different types of pizza. It uses infra-red rays and other technologies to make the dough, spread the tomato sauce and topping, and bake the pizza. The end result is ready in just under three minutes and costs five Euros, around six U.S. dollars.
I can think of about 20 spots where something like this would make a killing…

The Ultimate Peanut Butter & Jelly
I haven’t made this sandwich yet, but I have a toaster at work and you can bet your ass I make one within 7 days. Honey sounds delicious so I’ll have to make one with jelly and one with honey, just to give each a chance at greatness. They key to this sandwich seems to be the extra slice of toasted bread in the middle giving it the “Big Mac” effect.
Cat House on the Kings – Hundreds of Cats and Dogs Co-Existing
Introduction to this truly unique no-cage, no-kill cat & dog sanctuary in Parlier, California. The cats do look pretty damn happy in my opinion, but I don’t believe that the house doesn’t stink. All cats smell like trash plants.
I’m pretty sure Grace and Kelley B. will be running something like this in the next 5 years. As a couple.

I was a big fan of Drake’s album so I was pretty excited when I saw John Paul King post this on Facebook. Yeezy and Weezy murder the track and Eminem gives another mediocre performance. That Mariah diss track was the best thing he’s released in the past 3 years. Relapse 2 is your last chance, son.

As usual, I start writing something then change my mind half way through when another song starts playing. You’ll have to wait for the playlist, but for now the frontman for The New Pornagraphers, A.C. Newman is the target. Allen Carl Newman started his music career with a couple of bands in Vancouver before The New Pornagraphers formed in 1997. He put out his first solo album titled Slow Wonder back in 2004. It’s been five years and TNP hasn’t put out anything new since 07′ so it was about time for some new material. When Get Guilty was released this past January I was pretty excited. I’ve really enjoyed Slow Wonder and was hoping the new album would live up to my expectations. It’s a good album, not too poppy and seems to be a little cleaner and less chaotic than what he puts out with The New Pornagraphers. Below are two tracks from the new album, the last one is from Slow Wonder.

The Human Iceman
In January this year, Wim Hof ran a half Marathon (21 km) above the polar circle in Finland. He wore only a pair of shorts and no shoes. The ground (snow) temperature was 35 below. In a few months time he’ll try to set a new world record by attempting to climb parts of Everest wearing only shorts.
This is not your regular stunt. Wim already has 9 world records, and has trained hard for many years to withstand cold, much like some monks do in Tibet. Wim can actually regulate his core heat to control the temperature of his skin. Something of a medical enigma, Wim is able to withstand cold that could kill or seriously injure other people.
One of Wim’s world record attempts took him to the North Pole, where he held his breath for about 6 minutes and 20 seconds below the ice.
