In 2006, the Brooklyn scene produced another great band in the Harlem Shakes. In 2007, they self-released their first EP titled Burning Birthdays. Every major music mag from Pitchfork to Spin dug Harlem Shakes’ sound. After touring and playing with bands such as Deerhoof, Clap Your Hands, Vampire Weekend and Wire, they started work on what would be their first LP. Technicolor Health was made after and during some tough times (involving serious sickness) for the band. The record captures the weary, hopeful, and sometimes triumphal vibe of that period in their lives. Above all, the album is about surviving abject shittiness.”(Gigantic Records) Technicolor Health is evidence of the bands obsession with the pop music that inspires them; Beta Band, Grandaddy, John Starks, etc . They recently finished up touring with Passion Pit, the only future dates are UK, and were canceled. The Band consists of Lexy Benaim, Todd Goldstein, Jose Soegaard,Kendrick Strauch and Brent Katz.
