Ali G Visits a Farm

For some reason I completely forgot how funny all of Ali G’s old clips are. He turns a visit to a farm into pure comedy gold. I miss him being able to go around and take advantage of people who didn’t know who he was. Those times are long and gone unless he comes up with a new character.

Introducing the “Air Chair”

This is an amazing video of Geno Yauchler, one of the world’s greatest hydrofoilers (what a lame name). I would pay good money to see a few of my friends get strapped to that thing and dragged across the surface of the water.

“One morning, over at Elizabeth’s beach house, she asked me if I’d rather go water-skiing or lay out. And I realized that not only did I not want to answer THAT question, but I never wanted to answer another water-sports question, or see any of these people again for the rest of my life.”

Better Than Ice Cream, Vol. 33 by Wes Keyes

How was everyone’s Comfest this past weekend? I’m pretty happy with how the weekend went. Charlie Brand, Rick Schaier, Algernon Quashie and Alex Gerber make up Phoenix, AZ group Miniature Tigers.  Charlie Brand put a couple of songs on MySpace back in 05′ and 06′, and slowly gained the attention of fellow musicians who would either end up playing with Charlie or join him on his journey by pushing him to record.  This in turn led to the creation and release of the first two EP’s titled Black Magic and White Magic back in March of 2008 under Modern Art Records.  Miniature Tigers released their first LP titled Tell It To The Volcano last fall.  For anyone lucky enough to be on the west coast, you should definitely check them out.

All shows are with Princeton, a great band out of Eagle Rock, CA. that everyone should give a listen to.  They’ll be playing a C-bus show in Sep w/ RA RA RIOT.

Dude Jumps Out of a Helicopter to Catch a Marlin

This is what I’m talking about. I find it hilarious that someone dreamed this idea up and then had the balls/lack of brains to go out and try it. Too bad he didn’t slay the fish and serve it at a victory dinner. I’m not sure of how good a marlin’s memory is, but I’m sure as hell it will remember that for the rest of it’s life.

Wingsuit Base Jumping

I know I already posted this video. I might post it again in a few months. This is seriously one of the craziest things I can imagine myself doing. I wouldn’t be doing those 5-10ft flybys, but I would definitely get my flying squirrel on.

Jay-Z D.O.A. (Death of Autotune) Video

I wasn’t entirely impressed with this song the first time I heard it and I haven’t listened to it since. Today I see the video was released and I feel like I slept on the track a little. That guitar riff is bangin’, in my opinion.

The Light Art of Pablo Picasso

In 1949, LIFE photographer Gjon Mili visited Picasso in Vallauris, France. He showed Pablo some photographs of ice skaters with tiny lights affixed to their skates jumping in the dark. Picasso was immediately inspired, these photos were the result. You can see more of these in this LIFE gallery.

UPDATE: Man Stabbed, Killed at Comfest

UPDATE: According to police, the victim, 18-year-old Bryan Barbin, later died from his injuries at the hospital. Police have not filed murder charges in the killing.

A man was in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times in the chest at ComFest yesterday evening, according to police.

A young man was detained and was being questioned last night, police said. The victim was taken to Grant Medical Center.

Police were called at 8:15 p.m. to near the center of Goodale Park in Victorian Village, where a witness said two men who appeared to be friends in their late teens or early 20s were wrestling in an open area.

“It looked like they were messing around, until one guy went down,” said Doug Golding, a vendor for Wind Over Water Sailing School. “It was bizarre.”

Police at the scene said they had secured a knife that was in a grassy area a few yards from Golding’s vending station.

Golding said the man had apologized profusely to the victim immediately after the stabbing and then folded up a knife.

Detectives spoke to at least three witnesses at the scene.

Columbus Police detective Jim Day said he was told the men were friends.

The victim “didn’t look OK. He’s in bad shape,” said Golding, who said he was shocked by the incident after having attended the community festival for 31 years.

“I’ve never even seen a fistfight,” he said. “This festival is so peaceful.”

“Little Buddha” Set to Become World’s Smallest Man

At just two feet tall, Khagendra Thapa Magar is just four months away from being named the world’s smallest man.

Excitedly awaiting his 18th birthday in October of this year, Khagendra and his family are in contact with Guinness to take the official crown from 2ft 5in He Ping Ping of China.

Weighing only 10lbs, Khagendra has become something of a celebrity in his native Nepal, where politicians have joined the clamour to see him recognised as the smallest man in the world and villagers have dubbed him ‘little Buddha’.

Asian Boy Learns About Rejection

Grace was rumaging through some of her old home videos and sent me this gem. At one of her piano recitals  a small boy would present the girls with flowers after their performances. The first pair of girls gladly accepted the flowers, however Grace took the high road and broke the poor asian boy’s heart. His reaction is priceless. He yells “NANDE?!?” which Grace said means “Why?!?”

Thanks for the video, Grace!

Crop Circle Mystery Solved

The one interesting bit that I found recently in one of my briefs on the poppy industry was that we have a problem with wallabies entering poppy fields, getting as high as a kite and going around in circles,” (Tasmania attorney general) Lara Giddings told the hearing (on poppy crop security).

“Then they crash,” she added. “We see crop circles in the poppy industry from wallabies that are high.”

Jackson 5 – Life of the Party

This song is not as popular as their other hits, but it showcases Michael’s voice and well as the voice’s of a few other Jacksons. Pretty funky track if you ask me.

Michael Jackson’s First Moonwalk EVER

Lots of people have lots of things to say about the man Michael Jackson was. I’m not going to talk about the man, I’m going to let his music talk for him. This is the first time MJ busted out the Moonwalk for an audience (3:45) but the entire performance is gold. I’ll be posting a few more classic clips throughout the day.

Crazy Trick Shots, Not Even Joking

I hate all those fake ass trick shot videos where its blatantly obvious that the video is fake after 15 seconds. I would love to know how many hours it took to get some of these shots. The first 2 shots aren’t really all that, but after that it’s unreal. Shaq heard about the video on Twitter and told the kid he would play him in a game of horse for $1000. Kind of cheap if you ask me.

Watch it in HD. Props to A Dream Killer for the link.
