6 Month Exposure of Bristol, UK
One of the world’s longest exposures ever. For 6 months between the winter and summer solstice, Justin Quinnell left open his homemade pinhole camera. The lowest arc shows the first day of exposure on the winter solstice, the top curves were captured in the middle of summer. Here is what photographer Justin Quinnell had to say.
“I have always been fascinated with astronomy, its immense scales of space and time reaching far beyond comprehension within our own short instances on Earth.
The project was to record views of Bristol, with the sun trailing across the sky from the winter solstice (22nd December) to the summer solstice (the 20th of June).
The technique is not new. Several people are currently doing similar work. Paolo Gioli in Italy and Tarja Trygg in Finland are both experts in this area. I just wanted my hometown of Bristol to be imaged in this way.”
“Alien Skull” Found on Mars
Any normal person looking at this picture sees a rock. However thousands of space nerds across the globe claim this is photographic evidence of an alien skull. Forums and chatrooms everywhere are chock-full of “information.” One alien-spotter speculated: “The skull is 15 cm with binocular eyes 5 cm apart. The cranial capacity is approximately 1400 cc.” Another dork even figured out the alien’s diet: “There appears to be a narrow pointed small mouth, so this creature most likely is a carnivore.“
If I was the astronaut in charge of e-mailing these pictures back to NASA, I would definitely have some photoshop fun before I sent them. The possibilities would be endless.
The Grip is Moving!!!
So I’m looking into hosting this blog myself so I can do a few more things with the site. I’m thinking a chatroom and a forum will be my first two additions as well as some layout tweaks. Sadly, TheGrip.com is taken and belongs to a Penis Enlargement product, so I have to find another domain. I need some input from all of the readers out there. What domain works best?
Any additional ideas or input is greatly appreciated.

Cleveland sucks. I’ve been to NYC more than I’ve been to Cleveland. I’ve been to Indianapolis more than I’ve been to Cleveland. I’ve been to Axis more than I’ve been to Cleveland. The city has nothing to offer me with the exception of LeBron James, and I just watch him on TV.

MC Hammer – Pumps in a Bump
THROWBACK!!! I could barely remember the music video when I ran into this. I knew there was a pool and a whole gang of honeys, but I DEFINITELY FORGOT that Hammer was rockin’ the banana hammock. Can’t even begin to describe how corny that is.
