Dog-o-Matic Washes Your Dog, Traumatizes Them For Life

I actually look forward to giving my dog a bath. Rocko, my chocolate lab, has only only one goal while getting a bath: escape from the tub. He has only been successful once and I generally end up just as wet as he is. I can’t see many dogs enjoying a bath inside this machine
***UPDATE*** NatDrive was right, the video of the cat in the machine is 10000x better.
Kilt ‘Em (literally)
I have only hit one animal during my impressive 10 year driving career. I struck and killed a large opossum in my 1987 Nissan Stanza when I was 17 years old. It felt like hitting a speed bump at 45 MPH. Since that day I have skillfully avoided all living animals, although during my high school glory days I did purposefully hit ever piece of roadkill I could. The scent of dead animals emanating from my vehicle warned all living creatures that my Stanza was a killing machine.
Anyone got any good roadkill stories?

Japanese Man Sets Record For Paper Plane Flight

Japanese engineer Takuo Toda has set the world record for the longest flight for a paper airplane, keeping his design aloft for 27.9 seconds. My paper airplanes never lasted more than 6 or 7 seconds.
After his record flight, Takuo said that his achievement was merely the next step in his ambition of launching a paper plane from space. “I had thought that the world record was impossible to break, but the key to breaking the record is how high you fly it.” Made of a single sheet of folded paper with no cuts, his design measured 10 cm from tip to tail. He plans to use the same shape to try to break his own record at another event for paper plane enthusiasts in September.

I Would Have Loved This as a Kid
I actually wouldn’t mind having it now. That would be my driving hat.

Usain Bolt Runs 150m in 14.36 Seconds
A new world best from the world’s fastest man. A 150 metre track was set up on the streets of Manchester. Bolt took half a second off the previous best dating back to 1983.
Phoenix – 1901
I saw this a few times last week but the video wouldn’t cooperate with WordPress.
This one works. Great song, great video.
Simon Schubert’s Papercraft Art
Papercraft artist Simon Schubert has a unique way of folding paper to create art– he never completes a fold, only leaves a collection of subtle marks to form his art. The results are stunning. When I click on the link I expected oragami and I was quite impressed when I saw this.

The World Cruise Ship

The World is a floating residential community owned by its residents. The residents, currently from 40 different countries, live on board as the ship slowly circumnavigates the globe — staying in most ports from 2 to 5 days. Some residents live onboard full time while others visit their floating home periodically throughout the year.
The ship has 165 residential units (106 apartments, 19 studio apartments, and 40 studios), all owned by the ship’s residents. The ship carries between 100 and 300 residents and their guests.
If I ever win the Powerball I’m definitely snatching up one of those apartments and cruising for a few years.
Square Stanza
This verse by Lewis Carroll is remarkable for more than its’ somber tone.
It can be read both down and across.

Sagging Now a Crime in Michigan
93 days to a year in jail? Are you kidding me?
What if I wear my pants at a normal level but I jack my boxers up to my armpits?

Galactic Center of Milky Way Rises over Texas Star Party
Everyone have a good weekend?
I got two flat tires!
The Road Trailer
Damn this movie looks insane. Definitely seeing this in the theater (or in my home theater, thanks TPB).
Trailer spotted at The Weedsteeler Blog via Carney. Watch this is HD.
Cap-Sac Fannypack Hats
Dov Charney from American Apparel has to be pissed he missed out on this one. They come in a variety of colors and only cost $13. Check out the website here. It’s actually kind of cool.

The Squares Marked ‘A’ and ‘B’ are the Same Color
Don’t believe me? Maybe you shouldn’t. I mean, my last name is LIEb. Take a few minutes and decide for yourself. Consider this your Friday mental stimulation activity. Show this to your co-workers and see what they think.

It’s Friday…

Eli Smith hails from LA and is skilled in the art of banger production. Never heard of him or this song before today and part of me wants to hear this all night.
Police Sketch of the Week

The story behind this picture is troubling, but what story on the news isn’t? I stopped watching the news about a year ago. I can’t handle the negativity and complete disregard for “real news.” The news is a business, not a public service. I’m trying to look at the glass half full, and when I see a picture like this, I smile.
This Chick Can Beatbox!
For the past few weeks the Beatbox Battle Online World Championship on YouTube has brought us some surprisingly good videos. This is Julia Dales and she has already made it to the semi-finals. This isn’t my favorite beatbox of all time but it’s pretty damn good.
Sean Tubridy: Toys on Roids
I’ve always loved the look of Polaroid photos. I heard they were being discontinued so I went out and bought a Fuji Instax camera in an attempt to recapture the Polaroid feel.
Save Polaroid co-founder Sean Tubridy delivers some solid proof on just why the old skool photosystem should stay around. Taking arresting and witty pics of some beloved retro toys with the equally beloved retro camera, “Toys On Roids” is both a play on words and a kick-ass photo series. So kick ass, in fact that luckily Tubridy has turned it into a book. I wants it. I wants it real bad.
