Last Call: Columbus Bloggers

I’m going to make a “Columbus Blog” section I made a Columbus blog section to shout out all the Columbus people out there. I looked through a “bunch” of my incoming links and noticed there are a lot out there I don’t recognize. So if you’ve got a “blog” and I’m on your blogroll (even if I’m not), hit me with a comment and a link and I’ll add you to the list. I appreciate all the support and I want to “give back” to the “community.”
Flashmob: The Sound of Music
I’ve always enjoyed these large improv-style performances and this one might be my favorite. It starts out with one guy and by the end there are probably 200 people dancing. I’m pretty sure I was smiling the whole time, thinking of how I would feel if I was there. Some of the spectators have huge smiles on their faces and it’s hard not to do the same thing! That techno Do-Ray-Me was a nice touch.
Driver Rolls Rally Car Down Mountain, Survives
Indy racing does not impress me. Yes, they are going 200+ MPH in a circle, but those cars are glued to the track and they rarely cut loose. Rally car racing is by far the most impressive driving sport out there. Can you imagine ripping around those turns when you are 10-15 feet from plummeting down a mountain?
The Absolute Worst Fight Scene of All-Time
My dad made me watch all of the Star Trek shows/movies when I was younger. I never got into it but I was huge into Star Wars.
In all seriousness this might be the worst fight in the history of film. The :45 second mark looks like an intro to a human/monster porno.
Getting To Know Mr. Chi-City: Q and A
I never get tired of his videos.
Cam’ron @ Karma /// I Really Mean It

The hype for this show was unbelievable. Some people in Columbus didn’t think the show would happen, but we all knew Killa would come show Ohio some love. We met up at Martin & Shawn’s loft (sheeked out) to have a few drinks before we left. A special thanks goes out to Odes for helping our crew “blend in” at Karma.

We walked to the show around 10:30 and ended up waiting outside for about 15 minutes in the hype line (they actually had a sign up calling it the “Blame it on the Alcohol” line). They let in 2 or 3 people every 5 minutes or so in order to keep a long line outside the club.
Pete and I managed to get inside for free. Don’t ask me how, that’s just how it worked out. We chilled in the front room for about an hour or so. DJ’s started playing and within minutes the whole floor was packed. The first guy who performed was horrible. He threw about $200 into the crowd (I copped $12). Taking that into account I will rate his performance as average. I think the second guy was named Nemesis and definitely was getting love from the crowd. Everyone seemed to know the lyrics and I was a little pissed that half the city (Brittany Hills, Sullivant Avenue) was feeling this dude and I didn’t know any of his music. I’ll have to do some research and see if I can get some of his tracks up on The Grip. This guy was on stage the entire night. (Kind of like this video) The cop car outside was murked out as well.

Around 1:15 AM Cam’ron took the stage. By this time the back room at Karma was packed. I don’t really need to say much about his set. Cam killed it. Check the pics and watch the videos ( I suggest watching them in HQ).
Cam’ron – I Used to Get it in Ohio
Cam’ron – Make the Trap Say Ay!
I think dude to the right of Cam’ron ate Dipset.
Cam’ron – Suck it or Not
Check the rest of the pictures after the jump… (more…)
Jenga World Record? Not Today.
I would have smacked that Dick Cheney lookin’ mofo right across the face and then I would have strangled him with his own mic.
U2 – Get on Your Boots (Justice Remix)

I promise this is the only time you will ever see U2 on The Grip. I haven’t heard any new Justice in a while so I figured I would throw this up. It’s not the greatest thing I’ve ever heard but it’s been a slow weekend so this makes the cut.
It’s hard for me to stay up with HypeMachine so if anyone runs into bangers, let me know. I’ll post it up!

Linus Omark – The Swedish Youtube Sensation
The goal at the end is so tight. He straight deeks the goalie to the ground and then floats the puck over his head. Bouncing it off the crossbar was a nice touch.
I’m Published: Game Over
Christopher Hawkins came out of hiding to send me this picture he found.
If you would like an autographed copy of this book, send it to me. I will sign it and gladly send it back to you free of charge.

Liebschwager
This chick named Melissa Liebschwager just won the women’s college three point competition.
The announcer said, and I quote, “It’s clearly the best name we’ve ever had in our contest.”
Steve Liebschwager. I’m kind of feeling that.
Wale – Penthouse Anthem

Brand new song from Wale. He wanted to make it clear that this isn’t a song for hiphop heads, this is a song for those of you who watch and temporarily fall in love with strippers. Way to go, Wale.
Also, Wale in Columbus May 20th!!! More details later.
Thanks to Espionage and Paul for the heads up on the track.
Bruno Trailer
Ali G has some of the funniest skits I’ve ever seen. Borat was a pretty good movie and I’m not saying I didn’t laugh my ass off but it got old really quick. Ever since I saw my first Bruno sketch I was PRAYING he would turn it into a movie.
My wish came true.
GRIP PICS
These were taken last weekend at Jimmy’s pre-birthday celebration.
Loving the instant film.

World’s Fastest Chug Dude
Just an FYI that is not Rob in the picture.
I actually met this guy when I was 13 or 14 years old. He was friends with my parents and I believe he still lives in Dublin. He chugged a pint of beer and it just disappeared from the glass. He was in his 40′s with kids at the time; I wonder what his tolerance was back in the day when he was competing in these contests? A liter of beer is… 1/2 of a 2 liter. That’s a lot of beer.

Kasabian – Vlad the Impaler
“The internet” says that both Jay-Z and Kanye West have tried to reach out and work with UK’s Kasabian. This is the first I’ve heard of the band but I’ll be on the lookout in the future.
