May cause dizziness, sexual nightmares, and sleep crime

Better Than Ice Cream, Vol. 20 by Wes K.

DC, Ohio, NY… What do these places have in common you may ask? DC natives Jamie Krents, Nick Stumpf and Matthew Stinchcomb all attended Oberlin College before moving to NY and joining up with Josh Wise, thus creating French Kicks. Fast forwarding a little, Krents left and Nicks younger brother took his spot. Nick stopped playing drums to concentrate on vocals, and after many temps they settled on Aaron Thurston. Not wanting to end the soap there, Stinchcomb left the band in 2005. Whew!!! Alright, now for the music. French Kicks have released numerous EP’s and full lengths, their most recent being Swimming. I like tracks “Abandon” and “Sex Tourists”, which I’ll put below. They’ve also come out with a covers EP titled, well…. Covers, which was recorded in the spirit of the Beach Boys’ Party! record.

  1. Dude, what is it with Oberlin and having sick bands come through/coming out if it? I feel like they have the booking agent of the gods..
