“I Rocked Polaris Amphitheatre With Pantera.”
After a tough day at work I headed to Bodega for a beer with some friends. While standing on the patio I look across the street and see a guy with dreads to his stomach, red sunglasses, and a bright ass Jeff Gordon NASCAR jacket setting up a boombox and a keyboard. After his rig is complete, he throws on some sort of techno/rock instrumental and begins to rock out. I immediately walk across the street and start watching.
He starts talking to me and says it has been a year since he rocked out the Polaris Amphitheatre with Pantera. He thanked me for coming and told me that this was his first “off-stage” performance ever and to excuse him because he was a little nervous. He started talking about performing live, aliens, and dancing with Pantera. That is when I started filming.
QUOTE OF THE MONTH YEAR:
“So, I see Pantera, they’re like, “Hell yeah you rock!” And I’m like, come on stage! Come on stage! We all start doing synchronized dances together, like… We like, started smackin’ it. The Will Smith move. You might not think it, but Pantera are actually pretty good dancers. They’re pretty sweet. Never seen nothing like it.“
Once the song ended he told me how the green lights he saw were from a space ship.
“The lights and the music combined to bring aliens to earth. It was a big ass space ship. Not that big, because it fit on the stage.”
He put on another track and began to shred the keyboard. About seven seconds later I realized the keyboard wasn’t plugged in and he wasn’t playing the music, just pretending to. His second performance lacked the energy I needed. I lost interest and went back to the bar.
Hopefully he becomes a Short North regular. His routine has all the right ingredients.

Classic
I like when he got on the keyboard at the end.
