In anticipation for their newest album on the Vice Records label which is scheduled to drop near the end of this month, Black Lips is the soup de jour. Cole Alexander, Jared Swilley, Joe Bradley and Ben Eberbaugh came together as the Atlanta group Black Lips in 2000. Sadly, Ben Ederbaugh was killed by a drunk driver in 2002 and was eventually replaced with Ian Saint Pe. With onstage antics that include flaming guitars, vomiting and kissing band members, they make Gil Mantera look like your grandmother. Self described as “flower punk”, their sound is raw, intense and classic. Todays songs come from the Good Bad Not Evil album which was their first studio album on Vice Records, every track on this album has a story behind it.
