Georgetown Player Gets Body Slammed, Almost Breaks Arm
A few nights ago, Pitt’s Dejaun Blair tossed UConn’s 7’3″, 260lb Tanzanian to the ground HARD. Pitt was ranked #4 in the country and they defeated #1 UConn.
Blair is a beast.
U.S. Mint Issues 4 New Pennies

Sometimes I think America is stupid and this is one of those times. With inflation the penny is becoming almost useless. Coining more pennies is an absolute mug’s game. They cost 1.4 cents to make and once they are received they are rarely spent. People take them home and throw them in a jar. I have a huge 5 gallon water jug in my room 1/4 full of change. One day I will cash that in and buy part of the internet.
So why are we spending 1.4 cents on something that is only worth 1 cent? I say we get rid of the penny and move all monetary transactions to 5 cent increments. That will also allow more people to say things like, “I got 5 on it.”
Better Than Ice Cream, Vol. 12 by Wes K.

Since forming in 2003, Tapes n’ Tapes have put out three albums (a self titled EP, The Loon and Walk It Off), played some of the best festivals in the US, and their popularity has soared. With all of their success, they’ve managed to stay original and not turn into the Kings of Leon. After listening to their albums, it’s easy to see why they have played Coachella, my personal favorite Bumbershoot, and Letterman. They have an edge, a little punk, a little blues, and a little rock. It’s hard to explain, thats why you’ll just have to check them out for yourself at THE BASEMENT on Saturday, February 21st. Josh Grier, Jeremy Hanson, Matt Kretzman and Erik Appelwick are Tapes n’ Tapes. Be sure to check out their website for videos and tips on saving money to finance your ticket to the show, and score some merchandise from tapesntapes.com. You can also check out their MySpace. Big thanks to Josh Grier aka Tapes1 for answering a few questions for The Grip.
Happy Birthday Michael Jordan
Today is Jordan’s 46th birthday and I’m going to celebrate by watching this video of his Top Ten Dunks over and over and over…
Thanks to Nate for the video.
Let’s Party With Rob’s Brother This Weekend
What kind of party?
This kind of party. Tony McMillen is an animal.

♫ The Count & Sinden feat. Rye Rye – Hardcore Girls (Don Rimini Nasty Boy Mix) ♫

Kareem’s obsessive Tweets put me on to this song. Funky little beat. Booty business.

UNC Clef Hangers – I Put On/Got Money Acapella
Spotted this over at TSS (What up, TC?) and the video brought a smile to my face. There is something about 20 white frat dudes harmonizing Young Jeezy, Kanye and T-Pain that just makes me smile.
This Is Why You’re Fat
Chicken fried steak, chicken-fried bacon, a country sausage, a fried egg, a fried green tomato topped with cheddar cheese and sandwiched between buns toasted in bacon fat, all served with a gravy dipping sauce.
Sounds amazing.

Columbus Blog Spotlight

Get Right has officially started a new blog. They currently have a gang of people posting which has led to a lot of good content so far.
Embassy Boardshop started a blog as well. This just started a week ago so give it some time to develop.
Go peep them both and support Columbus Bloggers (especially me).
Shaq + Jabbawockeez = Shaqawockeez
Shaq has a history of breaking it down during All-Star festivities. This year he took it to another level and got down with the Jabbawockeez.
Good stuff from the big man.
*** Kid Cudi Tazed & Arrested At Phoenix Reebok Party*** ♫ Kid Cudi – Can I Be ♫

UPDATE: Kid Cudi was tazed and arrested this weekend in Phoenix at a Reebok sponsored event where he was scheduled to perform. When asked to wear Reeboks for his performance, Cudi refused and insisted on wearing Jordans. After a screaming match with Reebok employees and a small altercation, police were forced to taser and arrest Kid Cudi. He spent the “Day N Night” in jail.
What a dumbass! Shouts to Nate for the info.
****************************************************************
Kid Cudi is arguably America’s most popular indie rapper and that didn’t happen by accident. His style, lyrical prowess, and use of popular indie samples on his mixtapes have all fueled the buzz surrounding the Cleveland, Ohio rapper. His first big mixtape release, A Kid Named Cudi (pronounced Kuh-Dee), featured a track titled “The Prayer” which utilized a sample from a Band of Horses track titled “The Funeral.” 808′s, Akai’s and Pro Tools are dope, but using one of the mellowest indie-rock tracks of 2008 as a beat takes some skill and some guts, and Cudi’s got both. If you’ve never heard it, now is your chance.
A new Kid Cudi mixtape track using an LCD Soundsystem sample just leaked and I had to share it. Listen. Twice.

MIMS – Move (If You Wanna) VIDEO
I’m sorry ADK, but I couldn’t wait the two weeks to jack this video from you.
I was at the DJ Holla CD release party a few weeks back when this song came on and I grabbed CJ and asked him who it was. When he said MIMS I was shocked to say the least. I never thought I would hear that name again. Not that “This Is Why I’m Hot” wasn’t a hot track, I didn’t think he could successfully follow up a hit like that. The bass on this hits hard and its got some bounce. Enjoy (Thanks, Rome.)
The Simpsons First New Opening Sequence in 19 Years
The first ever HD episode of The Simpsons tonight at 8/7c on FOX!
Rudy Fernández Has Ape Shoulders
It’s a little hard to see in this picture but we were watching it in HD and it was scary.
I got much love and respect for those out there with ape arms, but ape shoulders is a completely different story.

Dust Tag King
I remember there was one of these on a campus building for at least a year.
Gettin’ up.

Winner of the 2008 World Press Photo of the Year Contest
A picture of an armed sheriff moving through an American home after an eviction due to a mortgage foreclosure won the top prize in the World Press Photo competition
Jury members said the strength of the photo by Anthony Suau for Time magazine was in its opposites – it looks like a classic war photograph, but is simply the eviction of people from a house.

The Weiner Circle
Wiener’s Circle is a popular restaurant in Chicago, Illinois. It is located at 2622 N. Clark Street. It is best known for its famously abusive staff members, one of the more notable being ‘Poochie’. The ordering of a ‘Chocolate Milkshake’ is also a highlight, if you pay $20 and ask for a “chocolate milkshake” you will get flashed by one of the staff, almost all of whom are African American women.
The eatery is famous for its rambunctious late-night crowd and foul-mouthed staff.
♫ Matt & Kim – Daylight ♫
I could be mistaken but I’m pretty sure this is a new song from Brooklyn’s indie superstars Matt & Kim. The song is pretty good, not exactly my digs. I take that back, its definitely good so I posted it for obvious reasons.
