Man Orders Tools and Gets 30lbs of Weed Instead
Expecting to find a box of tools he had ordered, one north Texas man found 30 pounds of marijuana. Street value: $10,500. “I personally have not seen that much,” Denton police officer Ryan Grelle said. “This is the first time I’ve seen roughly 30 pounds of marijuana.” Investigators said the recipient immediately drove the drugs to Denton police headquarters. “The man came up and said something like, ‘I just want to talk to an officer and don’t want to talk to anyone else until I talk to an officer,” Grelle said.
According to police, the box was sent from Pharr in south Texas and made its way through Austin, Mesquite, Dallas and then Denton. “UPS tried to deliver to the Dallas address, but the person sending it put down a street that doesn’t exist,” Grelle said.
Detectives said they believe UPS diverted the package to a street with a similar name in Denton. UPS spokeswoman Susan Rosenberg said UPS works with law enforcement on drug cases. She said the shipping company scans some of its shipments but couldn’t divulge what technology is used because of security reasons. Denton police said they’ve turned over information on the shipping address to narcotics officers. The man who turned the marijuana in does not face criminal charges.

It’s 5am and I couldn’t sleep knowing that you haven’t heard this album. In reality, my sleep pattern is quite off but Hercules and Love Affair is an album that you absolutely can not miss. I’m glad Andrew Butler has gone from doing college musical/dance numbers in New York to being proud owner of one of the best albums of 2008. Andrew along with Antony Hegerty, Nomi and Kim Ann have done an amazing job on this debut album, I cant wait to hear what comes next from this Brooklyn based band. Hercules and Love Affair is signed to DFA/EMI Records where you’ll find LCD Soundsystem, Hot Chip, and YACHT among others. I figured we’d try a video this time. Antony does the vocals on the album version which I think is better, but oh well.

Officer in BART MURDER Resigns BART Officer Arrested On Murder
UPDATE:
“The BART police officer who fatally shot an unarmed man on an Oakland train platform and then refused to explain his actions to investigators was arrested Tuesday in Nevada on suspicion of murder, authorities said.
Johannes Mehserle, 27, of Lafayette was taken into custody in Douglas County, Nev., said Deputy Steve Velez of the Douglas County sheriff’s office. The arrest was also confirmed by David Chai, chief of staff to Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums.
Mehserle was arrested in the New Year’s Day shooting of Oscar Grant, a 22-year-old supermarket worker from Hayward who was lying facedown after being pulled off a BART train by police investigating a fight. An Alameda County judge signed an arrest warrant alleging murder, and Mehserle surrendered without incident, authorities said.
The shooting, which was recorded by passengers in videos widely circulated on the Internet and television, prompted public outrage, and some viewers said that the shooting appeared to be an execution.”

The SFGate wrote, “Mehserle’s resignation means he does not have to answer questions about the shooting from BART internal affairs investigators.”
Johannes Mehserle, the officer who shot and killed Oscar Grant as he lay face down on the ground, has resigned from his position with the police force. For the past week there have been riots in Oakland, California, during the fallout after the shooting. Reports show that they are investigating whether or not the officer confused his weapon with his stun gun.
The Alameda County District Attorney Tom Orloff plans to move as quickly as possible towards criminal charges.
CONFUSED HIS WEAPON FOR A STUN GUN? That kid was laying face down on the ground and you shoot him in the back? If someone, ANYONE, who had a permit for a gun pulled it out, shot and killed someone, and claimed it was an “accident” would be on his way to prison. This entire situation makes me sick to my stomach.

Rob Doesn’t Know How To Post Videos, So Here is Jimmy’s Notchback Doing Back-to-Back Nasty Burnouts
If you’ve ever seen Rob type you would understand why he can’t figure out how to post non-YouTube videos on his blog. He uses two fingers and types around 9 words per minute and has trouble sending e-mails. It’s like a blind person driving a car, they’ll figure out how to make it go but it always ends with a crash.

Music is one of the greatest forms of communication I can think of. The perfect song seems to say everything that we can’t always put into words ourselves. Brandon Summers and Benjamin Weikel the duo a.k.a The Helio Sequence have put out an amazing new album titled Keep Your Eyes Ahead. Released in Jan of ’08, Keep Your Eyes Ahead is their first album in almost 4 years. The Portland, Oregon band’s debut album titled Love And Distance was released back in ’04. I like track No.1 of the new album “Lately”, and if any of you have recently gotten over an ex you know why its a great song. Every track of this album is solid and an overall great listen. Whats your opinion?….
Coming to a city near you? Unfortunately not yet, as of today no tour dates have been set. I guess the album will have to do for now…
