Tyson Gay just set the land speed record for a human being. Sadly, he was not given the world record because the wind was blowing too hard. I don’t really think the wind should have anything to do with a decision like that. Have you ever seen someone call back a hole-in-one in golf because the wind helped the ball? Get out of here and let that man enjoy the fact that he is the fastest human on the planet. The U.S. Olympic track and field team bills itself as “the hardest team to make” because of the depth of the fields and a pressure-filled format that gives Summer Games berths to the trials’ top three finishers in each event. At least he made the 2008 U.S. Olympic team!
